Epic Shard offers different game modes. Explore our options below:
Story Mode
In Story Mode, players experience the world more safely. It's not possible to steal or be stolen from (coins are randomly generated on success), and failures are announced normally.
Additionally, it's not possible to cut off other players' heads (permanent death) nor have your own head cut off (but it's still possible to die permanently in dungeons). Finally, character progression happens at normal pace.
True Mode
In True Mode, players live the world as we know it. It's possible to steal or be stolen from, and it's possible to cut off other players' heads (permanent death, still requiring roleplay justification) and have your own head cut off.
Character progression in this mode happens at an accelerated pace to counteract the risks that players experience in this mode.
